This blog is about the 1992 Miller Genuine Draft 200 at the Milwaukee Mile on June 28, 1992.
CART and the whole Indy Car series at this time period were in a bit of a mess and needed some organizational help. So for this race the Wisconsin State Fair board hired Carl Haas to organize all track activities at the famous Milwaukee Mile.
Carl Haas was the head of Newman Haas Racing with Paul Newman. Their drivers were Michael Andretti and Mario Andretti and they had a great winning team.
Michael Andretti would win this race and he finished second in the 1992 championship that Bobby Rahal won. Michael would finish second in the championship to Bobby Rahal three times.
After the 1992 season Michael Andretti went to Formula 1 without much success. In 1994 Micheal would be back to Indy Cars where I believe he has always belonged.
Notice Robby Gordon having some fun in an Indy Car here and John Andretti in the photos. Also Eddie Cheever giving Chip Ganassi a hug and a little chat.
Don't forget that the Indy Car series is coming back to the Milwaukee Mile after being gone for eight years. August 31 and September 1 for two races will be a great return for the Indy Cars. So buy your tickets now from the Milwaukee Mile.
Enjoy a look at the great cars and the wonderful old main grandstand at the Milwaukee Mile.
Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Now that our Indy Car season is done which makes me sad, here is a look at the 1995 CART race at the Milwaukee Mile. The Miller Genuine Draft 200 was held on June 4th 1995, the weekend after the Indy 500 which was traditionally when they ran here in Milwaukee.
These cars were fast and sounded so great! Plus, I think one of my favorite liveries of a race car is the car of Christian Fittipaldi seen here. It has a bit of the Brazilian flag and his helmet is awesome too.
Some good memories here with Bobby Rahal, Stefan Johansson, Christian Fittipaldi, Al Unser Jr, Jeff Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi and more. I remember using actual film in my cameras then. It was Kodak's Extar 25. It was a slow film but the colors were great.
Paul Tracy won the race with Teo Fabi second and this was the old Milwaukee Mile with the old grandstands. Good times!
Enjoy a look back.

This week we look at Indy cars at the Milwaukee Mile in 1993. These were the good days of Indy car racing with some big names in the field and great competition.
Mario Andretti, Al Unser Jr., Paul Tracy, Rick Mears, Scott Goodyear, Willy T. Ribbs, Danny Sullivan, Bobby Rahal and many other good ones were racing at that time. Plus, we had Nigel Mansell who just finished clinching the Formula 1 championship in 1992!
These were really good times for Indy car that I don't think will ever be equalled again for competition and rivalries!
I'll let the photos do the talking now. Good looking cars and big names to enjoy!

Well, the 100th Indy 500 is coming up on us soon!
So until then, my blogs will be on racing of some form, and today it's IMSA, 1991, at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
Seems so long ago, because in my photos here, we have Robby Gordon in a Ford Mustang! He raced that before he was into an Indy car!!
It was a nice weekend because you had IMSA and Indy car, CART, in the same weekend! I show you Rick Mears and Bobby Rahal here and A.J. Foyt's nice pit vehicle!
We have Davy Jones in the very competitive Bud Light Racing Jaguar, and Wayne Taylor in the Chevy Intrepid.
The owner of Momo wheels, Mr. Momo himself, G. Moretti was racing a beautiful red Momo Porsche. Mazda was breathing fire at every turn it seemed and the Toyota's of P.J. Jones and Juan Manuel Fangio Jr. were very dominant in every race.
These were good times of racing and Road America looks great without all that now present fencing!
Enjoy the look back!
